After the rigorous training he experienced for the past few moths, Manny Pacquiao has once again brought home the bacon and has placed the Philippines again in the pedestal as every Filipino is expecting. Last Sunday, November 19, 2006, every street is empty of people and of vehicles, every retail store in the Philippine island is concentrated by people of all walks of life, every television set on each household has tuned on the much awaited fight, every employee in the business has find any excuse just to take a glimpse on this phenomenal cockpit. And to know that the opponent has been knocked out just for the third round is really something to be proud of for the Filipinos. Surprisingly, even the foreigners shout the name PACMAN and cheer up for the Filipinos, the world has been a living witness for that. Though most of them have cheered because of their bet, it can never be denied that it was pride for Filipino clan. And after that fight, the money prize is oozing once again for Pacman. All endorsements from sports wear, food industry, condiments, foot wear, alcoholic beverages, videoke products, analgesics and many many more, he will surely can not go back again to the poverty he experienced. He got every thing right now… a new baby, a fresh name to be remembered by history, numerous endorsements not any of those costs below PhP 10M, a branch of convenient stores, premiere cars, rental houses and a newly-built mansion worth PhP 35M. What else can he asked for? That is big money, a happy family and a name adored by everyone. And to spend $ 6,000 + for shopping in just one day is just nothing. How I wish I can live as Pacman. Well, he deserves all these wealth and fame.
Just a trivia. Does anyone know that Manny Pacquiao was supposed to be a priest when he was younger? In fact, he had already tered the seminary. To enter the priesthood is his mother’s dream for his son. But this man had found his passion not only to be a warrior of religion but also to be a warrior of his nation. Imagine the transition? From a priest-to-be to the world’s great boxing champion. He’s no other than, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Bravo Manny… Bravo Filipinos!
